E-40 and Busta Rhymes trade uncompromising verses on “Play If You Want,” the second preview of E-40’s 40-track Turning My Money Over (Quadruple Album). “Play If You Want” begins with E-40’s entire operating system in miniature: a tall bank, a bulletproof tank, smoke in the back seat, and a dismissal of anyone setting his limits. The verse turns the flex into a chain of small, strangely specific images. Busta Rhymes gives it a counterpart rather than a concession; both rappers are credited as writers, and neither is asked to sand down the peculiar logic of his flow for the other.
