Tinashe explores pop stardom as a persona on her new album Popstar. Featuring 16 new songs and no listed guest appearances. Calling an album Popstar could have been Tinashe’s most conventional move in years. Instead, she uses the title to pull the idea apart, treating pop stardom less like a genre assignment than a persona that can stretch across whatever sound the moment requires.
