Lucky Daye and Leon Thomas turn an uncertain invitation into “Fly U Out”. A new R&B duet previewing Daye’s forthcoming album ALOUD. Daye sees texts and photos as thin substitutes for being in the same room; Thomas answers without giving the invitation a clean resolution. That tension is the record’s real movement: a duet in which the two voices do not simply meet, but negotiate how close they are willing to get.
