Six years after UNLOCKED, Denzel Curry and Kenneth Blume return with an SP-404, a cheap mic and a working method that begins in conflict. Blume is no longer billed as Kenny Beats, but ii does not turn that change into a reunion spectacle; it puts their old push-and-pull at the center. Blume’s chopped-sample production gives Curry a hard, compressed space to work through the cost of having made it out.
