Nas is gearing up to release his highly anticipated 11th album. Before the release he announced a new deal between Mass Appeal Records and Universal Music. The deal will be a global distribution contract with Universal taking over all pending projects including Nas’ new album Nasir along with a back catalog from Run The Jewels, Dave East, J Dilla, DJ Shadow, and Pimp C. Nas had this to say about the partnership:
“I’ve been blessed to work with two of the best brands in music. Columbia Records was how I got my start and Def Jam was where I continued that journey. In my next chapter, I am proud to say that I am signing myself to myself. I look forward to releasing many projects in the very near future with Mass Appeal’s new global partnership with UMG.”
His new album Nasir is available now.
